The beautiful city of Nara. Even though its one of Kyoto's neighboring city, it's also a very unique place for its shrines and temples. It was once the capital of Japan before Kyoto. It's also much smaller and less spread apart. We decide to rent bikes for the day and tour the city by bike.
Toudai-ji: biggest wooden structure in japan...which means biggest temple. Because this temple is also a reconstruction, inside there is a model that shows you that it was twice, maybe three times as big as it is now before it got burned down. crazy monks.
thizz face...
Daibutsu: can't forget the great Buddha. it's said to be about 15 meters high...laying inside the temple. biggest buddha i've seen...
More Shika: the deer in nara are also very friendly...sometimes you'll catch one or two of them just praying around...haha. Always near the gods.
Which is nice in Nara is that you can actually find a piece of mind because there is green landscape everywhere. Well, at least near the temples, which makes sense.
we even found a few 'hanami' groups still out, enjoying the sakura with humans...wow, that's nice, no? a place where deer and humans can coexist peacefully. how beautiful.
official wanderer: The temples and shrines where really close to one another so it was very easy to just wander around, get lost and enjoy the scenery...
may peace be with you my big friend.
...and you my little friend.
Our day trip to Nara was coming to an end, and the japanese odyssey was also. Another last trip to the kansai airport, a little sushi and moms was good to go. don't cry guys, we had fun. And perhaps, we will see her soon...maybe next time in Hokkaido??
